Press Release: September 23, 2020

In 2020 many businesses converted their workforces to remote environments in record speed, but companies are beginning to recognize that having the skills to effectively communicate, manage, and lead in a virtual environment takes more than setting up a laptop and downloading Zoom.

Monica Scalf, Founder of The Work Well Group, noticed that employees were needing help managing the shift to virtual. Scalf said that clients she had been helping with soft-skills training for years were suddenly wondering how to coach their employees on being more professional and productive in the new virtual world.

“Everything from how to interject yourself into a video conversation to how to set up your laptop to grab an angle that conveys professionalism is important,” Scalf said.

In response, The Work Well Group is now offering three new professional development workshops:

·      Conveying Professionalism and Personal Presence in a Virtual Environment

·      Effective Leadership in a Virtual Environment

·      How to Lean In....Without Falling Over: Self Care for Women in the (Virtual) Workplace

The company is also offering Virtual Communication Coaching where individuals learn how to be more effective on video calls such as Zoom, WebEx, and Teams.

In addition to the new virtual workshops, Scalf also announced the addition of two Senior Consultants to The Work Well Group who will also be bringing new professional development content.

Bill Turri has led teams professionally for 13 years at a prominent, not-for-profit research company, where he has overseen the growth of his operation from a three-person team in 2007 to an almost 90-person business division in 2020.  Bill has a passion for helping people communicate more effectively with their teams, and especially for coaching professionals who are new to management and feeling overwhelmed in their roles. He will be offering two new workshops “Developing the Leader within You” and “Everyone Communicates, Few Connect,” both John Maxwell based workshops.

Rebecca Riley Moyer is a keynote speaker on the topics of holistic health, everyday courage, and teambuilding. She also penned a Simon & Schuster bestselling memoir (under Reba Riley) exploring chronic illness and her exploration of thirty world religions. Riley is currently pursuing her M.A. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology at Harvard University, and her specific area of research is fulfillment and delight in the workplace. She will be offering a self-care workshop for women professionals titled “How to Lean in Without Falling Over - Self Care for Women in the Virtual Workplace”

“Bill and Rebecca have a wealth of knowledge and experience to share with our clients, and I’m fortunate to have them as part of the team,” Scalf said.
