Monica Scalf, founder

In 2009, Monica Scalf founded The Work Well Group and has been teaching, speaking, and coaching in Fortune 500 and notable companies for over a decade. An educator by training, Scalf received her Bachelor of Science from Ball State University and her Masters from Xavier University. She holds an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) credential from the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and completed the Foundations of Positive Psychology Specialization through The University of Pennsylvania. Scalf began her career in steel sales before attending graduate school at Xavier where she taught as a professor until founding The Work Well Group. As an executive educator and coach she has worked with teams and individuals at eBay, P&G, Great American, Lexis Nexis, itelligence, Deloitte, and more. She is an instructor at the Xavier Leadership Center and the University of Dayton Center for Leadership. As a writer, Scalf held the columnist position for The Cincinnati Enquirer’s Our Town Magazine, and authored a book, Live in the Little: 52 Ways to Find the Extra in the Ordinary. carlina scalf, coach & consultant

Carlina Scalf is a writer, coach and consultant who specializes in working with young professionals on communication, leadership, and well-being skills. She holds degrees in English and Journalism from Ball State University and worked in corporate roles for four years before shifting to coaching & consulting. She completed the Science to Skills Foundations in Coaching Course through Applied Life in 2022 and is working toward ACC accreditation with the International Coaching Federation (ICF). As a coach, Carli helps clients navigate the world of work with awareness and supports them in intentional, solutions-focused growth. Her approach is based in compassion and deep, strategic listening. Topics she especially focuses on are confidence, communication styles, navigating change, strengths-building, and introversion & sensitivity at work. As a member of the Work Well Group operations team, Carli supports content strategy and business development. And, above all, she wholeheartedly loves the opportunity to work with her No. 1 role model (her mom!) on meaningful projects that help people work and live well.   

Christine Szydlowski, Esq., Certified Instructor

Chris is a licensed attorney and educator with over 30 years of experience in teaching, coaching, workshop facilitation, and professional development. Throughout her career, she has been propelled by a passion for guiding others to reach their full potential. Trained in adult learning principles and effective coaching techniques, she is a member in good standing of the Ohio Bar Association and the International Coaching Federation. As an Adjunct Professor and Director of the Externship Program at the University of Cincinnati College of Law, Chris has revamped instruction to focus on the "soft skills” development of our next generation of attorneys. In this role, she creates live and online courses that are coupled with individualized coaching sessions to build upon students’ strengths and goals. Previous positions include Litigation Attorney at Dinsmore & Shohl, Assistant Dean/ Director of Career Services at the University of Dayton School of Law, and Director of Professional Development at Graydon Law. Chris has also trained over a thousand independent consultants as a Workshop Facilitator at cabi, LLC, an L.A.-based apparel company. In all these roles, she finds joy in helping others soar. Chris, her husband, and their cat, Fred, reside in West Chester, Ohio.
